“Open Breweries 2024” of the members of The Hellenic Association of Brewers concluded with remarkable success

 “Open Breweries 2024” initiative organized by The Hellenic Association of Brewers and its member-breweries was concluded for the fifth time with significant participation and acceptance from the public.

The public responded to the call of the member breweries of The Hellenic Association of Brewers and visited the breweries of their choice during the weekend 28.09 & 29.09.24.

The participation of the public, of all ages, was characteristic. The visitors overwhelmed the brewers with questions on beer, showing interest in the various stages of the production procedure and the diverse types & categories of beer.

The President of The Hellenic Association of Brewers, Mr. S. Panagiotou said “We are very satisfied from the massive attendance of the public at the breweries all over Greece and we are grateful for the real interest shown in our products and in the people who create them.Through actions like these, beer culture is cultivated, and our industry grows, which has resonated with consumers in recent years as they become more informed and seek better knowledge.

The mass participation in our action, at the same time, fills us with obligations and responsibilities for the industry, so that we can look for other similar initiatives that promote beer culture. Open Breweries may be held once a year, but the public’s contact with beer is continuous throughout the year.”

This initiative gives the opportunity to consumers to get to know the product of beer in more depth, the ingredients of beer, to get acquainted with the beer production procedure and to meet the brewers in person.

The breweries that participated in this year’s initiative were the following:

• Elixi Microbrewery: Drosia Chalkidas, Evia
• Pineios Brewery: Larissa
• Ikariaki Brewery: Ikaria
• Cretan Breweries -Zidianakis: Heraklion Crete
• Cretan Brewery: Chania Crete
• Cyclades Microbrewery on Tinos Island: Tinos
• Microbrewery Local streets beer: Volos
• Septem Microbrewery: Orologio Avlonariou, Evia
• Olympic Brewery: Ritsona, Evia
• Standard Microbrewery of Thessaloniki: Thessaloniki
• Siris Craft Brewery: Serres

The Hellenic Association of Brewers and its members would like to thank beer lovers all over Greece for their warm participation in their initiative, for their genuine interest and curiosity and they promise to renew their meeting for the last weekend of September 2025.

A few words on The Hellenic Association of Brewers 

The Hellenic Association of Brewers was launched in 2004 as an association of big breweries in Greece. In 2016 there was an initiative which led to its expansion, as the participation of small and big breweries was foreseen. Today, members of the association are two big breweries and 18 microbreweries, whereas their representation in the Management committee is equal.

The mission of the association is to support the breweries operating in Greece so they can produce and distribute beer freely, responsibly, and legally with respect for the consumer, society, and the environment. The Hellenic Association of Brewers is a member of The Brewers of Europe, which was founded in 1958 and today unites national brewers’ associations and companies from 28 European countries, representing more than 10.000 European breweries.
