“Open Breweries 2026”: record participation across Greece

The biggest beer celebration in Greece took place for the seventh time recording the highest turnout to date. On September 26 and 27, member breweries of the Hellenic Brewers Association opened their doors, giving thousands of visitors, from every corner of Greece, the opportunity to experience the art of brewing.

This year’s event saw the highest attendance recorded to date, with nearly 3,500 visitors across the fifteen participating breweries. Beer enthusiasts from Greece and abroad had the opportunity to meet the people behind their favorite brands in person, tour the production facilities, and discover the “secrets” of the raw materials, as well as the brewing process and the distinctive characteristics of different beer styles.

The initiative of the Hellenic Association of Brewers aims to bring the public closer to the world of beer, through an authentic experience: from the raw material to the glass, with guides from the brewers themselves.

A total of 15 breweries opened their doors this year:

• Athenian Brewery: Athens, Patras, Thessaloniki
• Pineios Brewery: Larissa
• Ikariaki Brewery: Ikaria
• Cretan Breweries -Zidianakis: Heraklion Crete
• Cretan Brewery: Chania Crete
• Kavala Microbrewery: Kavala
• Cyclades Microbrewery on Tinos Island: Tinos
• Microbrewery Local streets beer: Volos
• Mykonos Microbrewery: Mykonos
• Septem Microbrewery: Orologio Avlonariou, Evia
• Olympic Brewery: Ritsona, Evia
• Standard Microbrewery of Thessaloniki: Thessaloniki
• Siris Craft Brewery: Serres

The increased participation of the public and breweries confirms the momentum the event has gained, highlighting the growing interest in Greek brewing and beer culture in our country. “Open Breweries” will return to welcome the public once again on the last weekend of September 2027.
