The initiative “Open Breweries 2023”, organized by The Hellenic Association of Brewers and its member -breweries was concluded with significant participation and acceptance from the public.
The public responded to the call of the member breweries of The Hellenic Association of Brewers and visited the breweries of their choice during the weekend 30.09.23 & 1.10.23.
The participation of the public, of all ages, was characteristic. The visitors overwhelmed the brewers with questions on beer, showing interest in the various stages of the production procedure and the diverse types & categories of beer.
The President of The Hellenic Association of Brewers, Mr. S. Panagiotou said “We would like to thank the public for the great attendance at breweries across the country and their genuine interest in getting to know our products and the people behind them. Beer culture is built though these events and the growth of the industry the recent years shows that the conscious consumer is seeking better information and knowledge. We were pleasantly “surprised” by the great response of the public this year, which creates greater obligations by the sector to look for other actions that will promote beer culture. The actions will take place annually on the last weekend of September but our date with our favorite drink will continue throughout the year”.
The members of The Hellenic Association of Brewers, all over the country, opened the doors of their breweries to the public over a weekend, organizing guided tours and beer tastings, all with free entrance.
Beer lovers, and not only them, participated in the events of the breweries and had the opportunity to experience an organized event on beer and at the same time to taste diverse types of well-known beers and of new ones.
This initiative gives the opportunity to consumers to get to know the product of beer in more depth, the ingredients of beer, to get acquainted with the beer production procedure and to meet the brewers in person.

- Cretan Breweries -Zidianakis (Heraklion, Crete)
- Cretan Brewery (Chania, Crete)
- Cyclades Microbrewery on Tinos Island (Tinos Island)
- Local streets beer microbrewery (Volos)
- Septem Microbrewery (Orologio Avlonariou, Municipality of Kymi-Aliveri, Evia)
- Olympic Brewery (Ritsona, Evia)
- Siris Craft brewery (Serres)
The Hellenic Association of Brewers and its members would like to thank beer lovers all over Greece for their warm participation in their initiative, and in their genuine interest and love for beer, and they promise to renew their meeting for the last weekend of September 2024.
