The Hellenic Association of Brewers and its member- breweries announce the dates for “Open Breweries” 2023

Visit one or more of the participating breweries on Saturday 30/09/23 & Sunday 1/10/23.

“Open Breweries” is an initiative of the Hellenic Association of Brewers organized with remarkable success in the years 2018, 2019 and 2022.

The Hellenic Association and its members, once again, renew their annual meeting with beer lovers to share their common passion for beer.

During these two days, big and smaller breweries from all over Greece, open their doors to the public, offering a vast majority from all beer categories.

“Open Breweries” initiative gives the possibility to the public to visit some of the most important breweries and microbreweries in Greece.

Through visiting the breweries, the visitors get to know beer, its characteristics, and its history, to learn about the beer production procedure, the ingredients of beer, to meet the brewers in person and try different types of beer and find out what are the special characteristics that make them stand out.

The breweries that participate in 2023 initiative are the following:

  • Athenian Brewery
  • Elixi Microbrewery
  • Pineios Brewery
  • Cretan Breweries -Zidianakis
  • Cretan Brewery
  • Cyclades Microbrewery on Tinos Island
  • Local streets beer Microbrewery
  • Septem Microbrewery
  • Olympic Brewery
  • Siris Craft Brewery

Type of events offered by the breweries:

(Each brewery decides on which of the following will be offered to the visitors):

  • Guided tours in the brewing section of the breweries
  • Guided beer tasting of diverse types of beer, to get familiar with the way beer is tasted.
  • Presentation of the beer history
  • Opportunity to meet the brewers in person and to interact directly.
  • Tasting of well-known beers and of new beer recipes.
  • Tasting of fresh beer directly from the production

Entrance to all breweries and participation in the activities is free of charge.

Pre-registration is requested for the tours and tastings and/ or priority order is respected due to the limited space.

We recommend communicating directly with the brewery you plan to visit to find out opening days and hours and to book your tour (all breweries accept a limited number of people by tour – booking or registration is required).

It is pointed out that beer consumption is permitted for people over the age of 18, while keep as reminder that we always consume responsibly!

The Hellenic Association of Brewers encourages and supports initiatives that further strengthen the beer culture, while at the same time promoting its responsible consumption.

A few words on the Hellenic Association of Brewers

The Hellenic Association of Brewers was founded in 2004 and today consists of 17 members who equally represent both big and small breweries.

The Hellenic Association of Brewers has as its mission to support the breweries operating in Greece, so that they can produce and distribute beer freely, competitively, responsibly, and legally, with respect for the consumer, the society, and the environment.

The aim of the Association is the development of a model that strengthens competitiveness, spreads the culture of beer, and informs on the safety of the product, promotes reforms and modernization of the existing legislation, supports extroversion and domestic production of products, and contributes to the development of the sector and the economic development of the country.
